The North Coast offers more fish, with fewer crowds. Make your dreams come true in this sport fishing paradise.

Prince Rupert

The City of Prince Rupert remains at the edge of wilderness, secure in a sheltered inner harbour and protected by a rim of islands along the famed Inside Passage. The island community is ideally situated on British Columbia’s beautiful North Coast, only a short distance from the Queen Charlotte Islands and Ketchikan Alaska, and is easily accessible by air, rail, cruise ship, ferry, car, or rv.

Prince Rupert boasts all the amenities of a municipal centre while still retaining its small town charm and new developments promise to bring a new era of prosperity to the scenic oceanside community. Those looking to explore investment opportunities should contact the Prince Rupert Economic Development Corporation.

Why Prince Rupert?

Protective waters, hard fighting fish, an abundance of wild life, exiting fishing… these are some of the words that come to mind when thinking about Prince Rupert. Its northern location combined with two of the largest salmon supporting rivers on the BC coast make the entire area fisherman’s paradise. Secluded bays, multiple islands that offer protection from wind and weather add to your comfort and enjoyment. Every year Prince Rupert attracts fishermen from all over the world and at King Salmon Chesapeake Charters we recognize the importance of providing our clients a superior experience. Prince Rupert is truly the northern capital of salmon and halibut fishing.

Prince Rupert has an oceanic climate and is also located in a temperate rainforest. Prince Rupert is known as “The City of Rainbows”.
